Throttle + Stripe
Connect your Stripe account to Throttle in one click with Stripe Connect, no API keys to paste, and route live card payments alongside other providers.
What the integration does
Stripe becomes a card connector inside Throttle checkout. You keep your own Stripe account: charges are created on it directly, funds settle to you, and you stay the merchant of record for refunds and disputes. Throttle runs the cart, checkout, orders, and subscriptions around it.
Because Stripe is one connector among several, it takes part in the same routing rules as everything else — ordered fallbacks that can branch on card country or payment source — so you can run Stripe next to another processor instead of choosing one for good.
Connecting your account
Open Connectors → Add connector, choose Stripe, and click Connect. You’re sent to Stripe to approve access and returned to Throttle with the connection in place — no secret keys to create, copy, or rotate.
Each workspace environment connects separately: test environments use your Stripe test mode, production uses live mode, and the dashboard labels which one you’re connecting. Build and test the whole checkout — subscriptions included, on a tokenized card connector — against test mode, then connect production when you launch.
Good to know
- Connecting a production Stripe account shows a readiness notice until the first live charge succeeds.
- Refunds you issue from Throttle go to Stripe and are recorded on the order.
- Tax is handled by Throttle’s tax configuration or Avalara AvaTax, not by Stripe Tax.
